 Samsung is up to another challenge in the market to their competitors , not with introduction of new smartphone or anything but it's quite interesting too. Their new strategy seems to attract new customers. The idea is simple if you wish to have new Samsung galaxy Note II  you just exchange it with your smartphone with Rs 10,000 cash back. Well it's sad that this offer is only for short period and limited phones.

The offer is valid from 9th to 30th June 2013 and here is the list of smartphones eligible  for exchange :

Samsung has introduced their new offer Samsung Galaxy Note II Upgrade Offer under which customers can get a Rs 10,000 cash back on the Galaxy Note II in exchange of select smartphones. With the exchange offer, the  rs 37,500 price tag on the phablet gets reduced to Rs 27,500


Samsung has laid a few conditions for the offer such as : First step is to complete the purchase of new Galaxy Note II inder Smart Upgrade Offer on the Samsung eStore by filling in your old smartphone details. You will get an instant cash back of Rs 5,000 upon purchase of Galaxy Note II from the eStore and remaining rs 5,000 after Samsung checks your handset's condition and eligibility for the offer . The amount will be reimbursed in the customer's account upon receipt of the old smart phone.

You will receive the Galaxy Note II with packing material and buyback form. You need to pack the device liable for exchange, the buyback form and an ID proof. You then schedule a courier pic up within the next 7 days and Samsung will collect it the device with the document.

Galaxy Mega 6.3 & Galaxy mega 5.8

Samsung has launched its Galaxy Mega large screen smartphones in Indian market. The Galaxy Mega 5.8 will be available across the country within a week from today  for Price  of Rs . 25,100 while the Galaxy Mega 6.3 will be available in mid- June  for MRP of Rs . 31,490.

Samsung galaxy Mega 5.8 is a dual-SIM device that has a 5.8-inch screen with qHD (540 x 960 pixel) resolution. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor alongside 1.5GB RAM and features an 8-megapixel rear camera, as well as a 2-megapixel front facing camera. The phone comes with a 8 GB expandable storage and has a 2,600 mAh battery. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly bean out of the box.

The Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 sports a 6.3 -inch 720 x 1280 display and features the same camera as that of Galaxy 5.8 . It is powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz . The galaxy Mega has 1.5GB of RAM , Bluetooth 4.0, Wi -Fi  802.11 a/b/g/n and A-GPS. The phone comes with a 3,200 mAh battery and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean . The phone comes with 16 GB internal storage capacity and a microSD card for expanding the storage up to 64 GB.

The Galaxy Mega smartphone will offer split screen capability for a variety of application including email, messages,Myfiles, S Memo, S planner, amongst others. The device will also feature much touched Air View feature, that lets user preview information in emails, photos in galaxy and speed dial contact without opening them.

The phones are being launched with special offers from RCOM and Vodafone . RCOM customers buying the phone will get 2GB data per free for 3 Months and unlimited access to Big Movies library, Whatsapp, facebook and twitter. Vodafone customers will get 2GB data download (2G + 3G) per month for two months.

Samsung Electronics said Monday that  global sales of its flagship Galaxy S smartphone had topped 100 million since the first model debuted in 2010, cementing its dominant position over US rival Apple.

The original Galaxy S phone , launched in june 2010, sold 25 million units , the south korean electronics giant said in a statement

The Galaxy S II , launched i April 2011 , cracked up the sales of more than 40 million , and the S III has reached the same volume since on the market in May last year.

For Samsung 2012 was a watershed year that saw it take a giant bit out of Apple as it carved out a dominat position in the global mobile computing market.


Samsung saw its shares of  the lucrative smartphone market surge to 31.3 percent in the third quarter of 2012 , up from just 3.3 percent in late 2009.

It extended it lead over Apple as top maker of smartphones worldwide, according to research firm IHS iSuppli , which gave Samsung 28 percent of market in 2012 , up  from 20 percent the previous year.

Apple shares rose to 20 percent from 2012 from 19 percent , IHS said.

The two tech giants have been embroiled in a long -running patent battle with accusing the other for stealing designs and technology.

The bigger the better seems to be the new mantra of mobile phone makers. Smasung streched the mobile screen to 5.3-inch with the introduction of its Galaxy Note I Device and 5.5-inch with the Galaxy Note II. Now , the company seems to be aiming even higher.

If reports in korea Times are to be belived , Samsung has already started working on Galaxy Note III, which is said to have 6.3-inch screen.

"The world's biggest technology company has been develouping the Galaxy Note III with a 6.3-inch screen using an OLED display, according to officails afrom a local parts supplier, while the company will start the first commersial scale of the 55 inch OLED TV's  from last year ".

the repot also mentions that in 2013, samsung will be cutting down its investment in the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) units and concentrating more on organic ligth-emitting diode (OLED) and plastic-based flexible displays.

According to the grapevine,samsung is expected to unveil Galaxy S IV smartphone early next year, perhaps at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013. Samsung Galaxy s IV is rumored to have  a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED full-HD display.

Prominent Samasung - related blog SamMobile has the latest on Samsung Galaxy S 4 rumors. According to the Blog the next generation Galaxy S Device , likely to be called Samsung Galaxy S$ is under  develoupment and is codenamed 'Project J' may launch early as april 2013.

According to older rumors the Galaxy S4 would have a full HD AMOLED display , aquadcore CPU, the latest version of android , a 13 megapixel camer and the screen size would be 5.0 "

Other rumors had indicated the Galaxy S 4 will feature a 13 Mo camera , a significant upgrade over the Galaxy S 3. There's also buzz about the Galaxy S 4 featuring a 2GHz quad-core  processor and 8-core  GPU
